Case Study: DHL
The Challenges:
Like many logistics companies, DHL was experiencing increasing difficulties recruiting and retaining good quality LGV drivers. The introduction of new legislation and a steadily aging workforce meant that DHL was increasingly reliant on expensive, temporary agency labour. As a result, DHL looked elsewhere. Foremost among its objectives were:
1. To secure a dependable source of experienced drivers able to conform to DHL standards.
2. To guarantee quality through a repeatable, structured process.
3. To protect its reputation by identifying an ethical supplier.
Working closely with our partner Paracross, Milestone was able to provide:
1. A rigorous recruitment campaign resulting in the selection of the top 13% of applicants.
2. A 4 week tailored training programme delivered at a residential campus and covering English for the workplace,
3. Delivery of groups of drivers to many of the most affected depots around the DHL freight network.
4. Account Management and welfare support programme for DHL and LGV drivers.
